The Seattle Mariners selected McLennan Community College pitcher Connor Phillips with the 64th overall pick in the second round in the 2020 MLB draft on Thursday. The Blue Jays took Phillips in the 35th round last year, but he went to community college and pitched well before his command failed him in his last two outings. He can reach 98 mph with his heater and can hold his velocity late into his starts. The right-hander will need to refine his curveball and changeup if he's to have success against better hitters. Phillips isn't a finished product but has plenty of upside if he adds more velocity and improves the command of all of his offerings.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
