Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Joey Wentz (elbow) underwent Tommy John surgery on Tuesday in West Palm Beach, Florida. His expected timetable to return is 14-16 months. Wentz has been battling with forearm soreness for the past month. Still, this news comes as a big surprise. The Tigers acquired Wentz from the Atlanta Braves in a trade last July. Wentz was drafted 40th overall in 2016. In five starts at Detroit's Double-A level, he went 2-0 with a 2.10 ERA. Due to his injury, Wentz is only rosterable in deep dynasty leagues this season.--Jakob Ashlin
