Joey Wentz Undergoes Tommy John Surgery
Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Joey Wentz (elbow) underwent Tommy John surgery on Tuesday in West Palm Beach, Florida. His expected timetable to return is 14-16 months. Wentz has been battling with forearm soreness for the past month. Still, this news comes as a big surprise. The Tigers acquired Wentz from the Atlanta Braves in a trade last July. Wentz was drafted 40th overall in 2016. In five starts at Detroit's Double-A level, he went 2-0 with a 2.10 ERA. Due to his injury, Wentz is only rosterable in deep dynasty leagues this season.
