Carolina Hurricanes center Morgan Geekie had an extraordinary NHL debut on Sunday, finishing a 6-2 win over Pittsburgh with three points. It took less than 10 minutes for the 21-year-old to get his first career goal and he also finished off the scoring in the game, adding an assist on a Jaccob Slavin goal. Justin Williams had two markers to stretch his goal-scoring streak to four games. Geekie is a former third-round pick, who notched 22 goals and 42 points in 55 games in the AHL before earning a promotion to the big league. He played just a little over 10 minutes, but also managed to record four blocks, two shots, two penalty minutes and one hit. Dan Bourbonnais was previously the only player in franchise history to register a three-point debut.
