Boston Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy re-upped with his draft-day team on Sunday, signing a three-year, $14.7 million contract (average annual value of $4.9 mil). The 21-year-old, who had been holding out as a restricted-free agent, has evolved into a steady top-four rearguard for the Bruins over the past two seasons, finishing with 28 points (seven goals, 21 assists), 79 shots and 92 hits in 54 games in 2018-2019. With more than two weeks until the Bruins' season opener against the Dallas Stars on October 3rd, McAvoy has plenty of time to settle into his normal spot on his team's top pair. As an all-around contributor in fantasy pools, the Long Island native's game should be considered a hot commodity in upcoming fantasy drafts as he continues to grow offensively.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller
