Brent Honeywell Has Surgery, Could Resume Throwing In January
Brent Honeywell (elbow) had successful elbow surgery on Monday to fix a fracture in his right arm. His ulnar collateral ligament was not damaged, so Honeywell could resume throwing in January of next year if everything goes well in his recovery. The 24-year-old entered the year as the team's No. 2 prospect and No. 25 overall, per MLB Pipeline, so this is a big blow for both him and the Rays as an organization. You can drop him wherever you might've been stashing him in single-year formats, but he's still a valuable hold in dynasty/keeper leagues, although he might not pitch for the majority of the 2020 campaign now.
