Aroldis Chapman Disarms Late Rally For Save

After New York Yankees reliever Chad Green loaded the bases to begin the bottom of the ninth, manager Aaron Boone was forced to summon closer Aroldis Chapman. The Yankees held a five-run lead but Chapman faced a save situation nonetheless and managed to ease tensions in a hurry. The 31-year-old quickly induced a monumental double play, giving up a run in the process. He retired the ensuing batter to secure his 19th save of the season, tied for most in the American League and second-most overall this season.
