Vancouver Canucks defenseman Christopher Tanev (lower body) suffered an apparent lower-body injury in Wednesday's 1-0 road loss against the Anaheim Ducks. He left midway through the game and he was unable to return. Right wing Jake Virtanen also left the game due to an unspecified injury. He spent a good chunk of time in the dressing room before he was able to return and finish the game. Defenseman Troy Stecher logged a career-high 29:04 of ice time with several rearguard out and others injured during the game. The shortage of D-men in Vancouver might mean prospect Guillaume Brisebois is summoned to the big club.--Daniel Dobish
