Buffalo Sabres left wing Jeff Skinner proved that he can still be effective playing without Jack Eichel on Thursday, scoring two goals -- including the decisive one -- in a 4-3 win over Florida. Eichel missed his first game of the season with a lower-body injury. Sam Reinhart also had a good night with one goal and one assist. Aleksander Barkov posted the same line for Florida. Eichel's injury is a big worry for the Sabres as well as his linemates Skinner and Reinhart, whose numbers could nosedive without him, but luckily the injury isn't considered to be very serious. He's listed day-to-day and the Sabres captain will miss at least one more game. Evan Rodrigues has taken over his spot at center on the top line.--Taavi Pailk
