Jon Gray Struggles With Control In Minors
Jon Gray struggled mightily with his control during his start for Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday. Gray still racked up seven strikeouts in just 4 2/3 innings, but he only threw 56 of his 102 pitches for strikes. Gray's stuff has continued to be phenomenal in that he can strike out tons of batters, but his control has plagued him. His walks haven't necessarily been high, but he floats pitches up into the zone that get hammered, making his mistakes turn catastrophic. He's not expected to be recalled anytime soon.
