With the 16th pick in the 2018 MLB Amateur draft, the Tampa Bay Rays selected 18-year-old left-handed pitcher Matthew Liberatore out of Mountain Ridge High School as a senior. Standing at 6-foot-5 and 200 pounds, Liberatore was arguably the best high school prospect in the draft this year and could be a huge steal at 16th overall. Liberatore holds scouting grades of a 55 fastball, 55 curveball, 55 slider, 55 changeup and 55 control on the 20-80 scale.
