Coming off his first career complete game, which was also a shutout, New York Yankees ace Luis Severino took the mound in the Bronx against the rival Boston Red Sox on Tuesday. The 24-year-old breezed through the first four innings of the game before running into trouble in the fifth inning. Starting off with a strike-three pitch that escaped from Gary Sanchez that allowed the runner to reach base, Severino labored, tossing nearly 30 pitches in the frame to slow his momentum. Additionally, he allowed a run, cutting his lead to just one. After a quick sixth inning, he returned for the seventh, carrying a high pitch count. After walking the leadoff man, he was pulled, but still with the lead intact. Unfortunately for Severino, the run came around to score, erasing his chance for a victory, but the Yankees won nonetheless.--RDelgado
