Texas Rangers outfielder Shin-Soo Choo went hitless across 4 at-bats against the Boston Red Sox, striking out twice. Despite the poor outing, the veteran is producing at a steady, albeit unexciting clip. His season line of .252/.338/.430 is right within his career standards, and he's connecting with hard contact at a better rate than in 2017. The added power is interesting, especially as his speed is regressing. Based on his career rates, and the fact that Texas continues to deploy him as a no. 2 or no. 3 hitter, Choo continues to be a useful 4th or 5th outfielder, even as just an injury replacement.--Sean Scampton
