Walker Eget Wins Duke Quarterback Job
According to ESPN's Pete Thamel, San Jose State transfer Walker Eget has won the Duke quarterback competition and will start in Week 1 against Tulane on September 5. The defending ACC Champions lost standout quarterback Darian Mensah to Miami, and Eget has been battling freshman Dan Mahn for the starting job this offseason. In two seasons as a starter (23 games), Eget has thrown for 5,555 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 19 interceptions. He doesn't bring much to the table as a runner. Expect the Blue Devils to lean heavily on running back Nate Sheppard, who tallied 1,418 total yards and 12 touchdowns on 237 touches in 2025. He's one of the top running backs in college fantasy football drafts.
