Jacob deGrom 2026 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: Not Quite Peak Form, but Still Holds SP1 Upside
Texas Rangers right-hander Jacob deGrom carried a significant health risk entering 2025 after making just 20 starts over the previous three seasons. However, he managed to put together a full season with high-end results, posting a 2.97 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, and a 22.1% K-BB% rate in 172 2/3 innings, his most since 2019. The two-time Cy Young winner wasn't quite at his peak form with his 27.7% strikeout rate marking his lowest since 2016, but still finished as a borderline top 10 starting pitcher in standard rotisserie scoring formats. Entering his age-38 season, deGrom's diminished stuff and injury history still present plenty of risk with his profile. Still, as the ace of the Rangers' rotation, and with a home ballpark that rated as the most pitcher-friendly according to MLB's park factors, deGrom maintains strong upside as the 16th starting pitcher off draft boards in NFBC drafts, which is close to his RotoBaller SP11 ranking entering the 2026 season.
