Chip Kelly Named Northwestern Offensive Coordinator
Longtime college football and NFL coach Chip Kelly is becoming Northwestern's offense coordinator, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel. Kelly is known for being one of the best offensive minds in the sport, and he has a long history of putting together potent and explosive offensive attacks, especially at the collegiate level. The 62-year-old has over 30 years of coaching experience, having served in four separate head coaching roles and four separate offensive coordinator roles. He's best known for his tenure as Oregon's head coach, posting a 46-7 record and winning three Pac-12 Championships. This is a splash hire for the Wildcats, which ranked 12th in the Big Ten in total offense (346.1 YPG) and 14th in scoring offense (23.4 PPG).
