Collin Klein Expected to be Top Target for Kansas State if Head Coach Job Opens
According to ESPN's Pete Thamel, Texas A&M offensive coordinator Collin Klein is expected to be targeted at Kansas State if head coach Chris Klieman steps down. Klein has been excellent as A&M's play-caller since leaving the Kansas State staff in 2023, and the 36-year-old was a star quarterback for the Wildcats from 2008 to 2012. He was a Heisman Trophy finalist and the winner of the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award in his final season in Manhattan. In 2025, Texas A&M tallied 454.4 yards per game, including 192.7 rushing yards per game (second-best in the SEC). The Aggies had an explosive and balanced offense during the regular season, and quarterback Marcel Reed progressed mightily as a passer. This is obviously a natural fit for Klein, and it would not be surprising to see it come to fruition.
