Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 13:
Jayden Higgins, WR, Texans
Houston Texans rookie wide receiver Jayden Higgins hauled in four of nine targets for 38 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's 23-19 win over the Buffalo Bills. The nine targets were a team high, and Higgins has now seen seven or more targets in four of his last five games. While the targets haven't resulted in massive fantasy performances, Higgins is establishing himself as the No. 2 wide receiver in this offense and providing solid target consistency.
It will be interesting to see how things are when C.J. Stroud (concussion) returns, as most of Higgins' production of late has come from Davis Mills. Regardless, Higgins is no longer someone who should remain on the waivers in deeper leagues, given his consistent target share over the last month of the season.
John Metchie III, WR, Jets
With Garrett Wilson (knee) currently on the Injured Reserve, the New York Jets have been looking to see who would step up and be the team's top pass-catching option. Over the last two weeks, third-year receiver out of Alabama, and a former second-round pick, John Metchie III, has stepped up and answered that question. The Jets brought in Adonai Mitchell via trade, and although he has seen 13 targets over the past two games, he has yet to turn that into any production.
On the other hand, Metchie has seen 10 targets in the last two games, scored twice, and has hauled in nine of those 10 targets for 110 receiving yards. In Week 12, with Tyrod Taylor under center, Metchie saw a season high of seven targets, and could be working his way into flex consideration in fantasy football while Wilson remains sidelined with the injury.
Chris Godwin, WR, Buccaneers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin looked "fine" in practice on Wednesday, according to Greg Auman of Fox Sports. The 29-year-old returned in Week 12 from a long injury layoff due to a leg injury and recorded two catches for nine yards on four targets in his team's blowout loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Godwin played just 36% of Tampa Bay's offensive snaps against the Rams, but Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said earlier this week that the team plans to ramp up his usage going forward.
Across the three games he's been healthy for this season, Godwin has recorded eight catches for 61 yards on 18 targets. He's dealt with persistent lower-body issues since suffering a dislocated ankle in October 2024, so it's wise for fantasy managers to proceed with caution until Godwin proves he can maintain health for an extended stretch.
Godwin remains tough to trust heading into the Buccaneers' Week 13 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, particularly with starting Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield's (shoulder) status in question due to a shoulder injury.
Parker Washington, WR, Jaguars
With Jacksonville Jaguars wide receivers Travis Hunter (knee) and Brian Thomas Jr. (ankle) sidelined in recent weeks, Parker Washington has stepped up as one of the go-to targets for Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Over his last four games, Washington has hauled in 18 receptions for 213 yards and two touchdowns on 25 targets. Thomas Jr. could return as soon as Week 13, but Hunter is on Injured Reserve and is not expected to return this season.
Even when Thomas Jr. returns to the lineup, Washington could remain a relatively high-volume option in the Jacksonville passing game. Across 11 games this season overall, the 23-year-old has hauled in 35 receptions for 421 yards and three touchdowns on 60 targets. In fantasy leagues with 12 or more teams where Washington remains available, he could be worth targeting on the waiver wire heading into a Week 13 matchup against the Tennessee Titans.
Wan'Dale Robinson, WR, Giants
New York Giants wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson caught nine of his 14 targets for 156 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's Week 12 overtime loss against the Detroit Lions. Jameis Winston quarterbacked the Giants again this week, and his gunslinger style of play allowed the young receiver to rack up a whopping 156 yards through the air. The 24-year-old pass catcher has been quite impressive as the de facto No. 1 receiver in Malik Nabers' absence, ranking as the overall WR17 in the eight weeks since Nabers went down.
Robinson's ceiling may decline a little next week when Jaxson Dart (concussion) returns under center, but Dart still has the passing skills needed to keep Robinson in the WR2 tier. He should continue to be started in most leagues as he takes on the New England Patriots in Week 13.
