Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football waiver wire outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider adding off waivers in Week 13:
Bhayshul Tuten, RB, Jaguars
Jacksonville Jaguars running back Bhayshul Tuten was unable to find much success in the running game during Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals. Tuten rushed the ball seven times for 17 yards in the overtime victory. It's worth noting that Tuten did carry an ankle injury into this game, so possibly that impacted his performance on the field.
In Week 11, Tuten rushed for 74 yards with a touchdown in the win over the Los Angeles Chargers. The rookie back remains the backup, but should continue seeing nearly double-digit carries per week. His struggles this week could make fantasy managers hesitant, but he does head into a plus matchup against the Tennessee Titans in Week 13.
Chimere Dike, WR, Titans
Tennessee Titans rookie wide receiver Chimere Dike caught five of his seven targets for 44 yards and one receiving touchdown during Sunday's Week 12 loss against the Seattle Seahawks. He also had a 90-yard punt return touchdown.
Dike's two touchdowns gave him a nice boost in fantasy football, rewarding managers who started him with the expectation that he'd perform well amidst injuries to Calvin Ridley (leg) and Elic Ayomanor (hamstring). The rookie will remain the top receiving option even after Ayomanor returns to action. He's a solid WR2 in an anticipated negative game script situation against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 13.
Jerry Jeudy, WR, Browns
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy caught one of his three targets for 39 yards and lost a fumble in a 24-10 win over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 12. Jeudy coughed up the ball at the end of a long catch-and-run when he had the ball poked out from behind in the second quarter.
The veteran wideout's disappointing season continues as he has just 32 catches for 395 yards and one touchdown in 11 games. He has been held to 50 or fewer receiving yards in eight contests. Jeudy will not be a strong fantasy option heading into a Week 13 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.
Kyle Monangai, RB, Bears
Chicago Bears rookie running back Kyle Monangai recorded 12 carries for 48 yards and a touchdown in his team's 31-28 Week 12 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. After veteran Bears back D'Andre Swift coughed up a fumble early in the game against Pittsburgh, Monangai worked as the team's feature back for much of the remainder of the contest. There's no question that the 23-year-old is emerging as a key piece in the Bears' offense. Monangai has now scored a rushing touchdown in three straight weeks.
For the season overall, he's recorded 461 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 99 carries. While Swift should be expected to remain the passing-downs back in Chicago, Monangai may be establishing himself as the team's preferred early-down and goal-line option. In any fantasy league with 12 or more teams where he remains available, Monangai should be a priority waiver-wire target heading into a Week 13 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Mike Evans, WR, Buccaneers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans (collarbone) has been rehabbing to get back onto the field, and according to head coach Todd Bowles, that return is expected to come before the end of the regular season. While Bowles was unable to provide an exact date, he pointed to the work being done by both Evans and second-year receiver Jalen McMillan as the team enters the stretch run of the season. Evans was placed on IR after exiting a Week 7 loss to the Lions with a concussion and broken collarbone.
At the time, the team was 5-2, but after losing three straight games, they have fallen to 6-5, and in a season defined by injury, quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder) was unable to finish Sunday night's game after spraining an AC joint on an end-of-half Hail Mary attempt. With the Buccaneers now holding the same record as the Carolina Panthers atop the division, a return to health is critical to their playoff chances.
