Week 12 Quarterback Rankings Outlooks
Jacoby Brissett, Arizona Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett played his way into the NFL record books for most completions in a regular-season game (47) during Week 11 against the San Francisco 49ers. After a historic performance, the 32-year-old veteran enters Week 12 as RotoBaller's 10th overall-ranked quarterback in a favorable matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars at home. The Jaguars' defense has allowed the 10th-most passing yards, the fifth-most passing touchdowns, and recorded the third-fewest sacks this season.
He should have plenty of time in the pocket to pick apart a vulnerable Jaguars secondary and continue stuffing the stat sheet. Since taking over the offense, Brissett has averaged over 40 passing attempts per game and has taken the Cardinals' passing game to the next level. Brissett should be comfortably inserted into lineups as a QB1 playing in a high-volume passing attack against a struggling defense.
Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy (toe) put forth a solid effort in his return to action in Week 11 after missing the previous six games. In what was just his third start of the season, Purdy threw for just 200 yards but did so with a tidy 73.1% completion percentage and completed three touchdown passes with no turnovers.
Purdy finished as the overall QB6 in the 49ers' win over the Cardinals and will be in the mix for another top-10 performance when San Francisco squares off against the Carolina Panthers on Monday night in Week 12. The Panthers rank in the bottom five in the league in sack rate and pressure rate, so Purdy should have plenty of time to pick apart their secondary, which has allowed the sixth-most passing yards over the last four weeks. Fantasy football managers can plug Purdy into starting lineups with confidence in Week 12.
Jared Goff, Detroit Lions
Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff had one of his worst games in a Lions uniform in Week 11, completing just 14 of 37 pass attempts for 255 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. On paper, Goff has a much easier matchup in Week 12 when Detroit hosts the New York Giants. Through 11 weeks, the Giants have allowed the sixth-most passing yards (2,641) in the NFL.
New York will also remain without cornerback Paulson Adebo (knee), who has been out since Week 7 with a knee injury. The Lions are dealing with some health issues themselves, as Goff will be without tight end Sam LaPorta (back), and multiple Detroit offensive linemen are playing through nagging injuries. Still, Goff could have a chance to do damage against the struggling Giants defense and profiles as a must-start fantasy QB1 in Week 12.
Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers
Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love (shoulder) put up three consecutive full practices and is off the injury report for Week 12 when the Packers host the Minnesota Vikings. Love was QB8 in Week 11, throwing two touchdown passes and just 174 yards on just 24 pass attempts in their win over the New York Giants. He also left the game for a brief period due to his shoulder injury, but returned to the game a short time later.
The Minnesota Vikings allow the 11th-fewest fantasy points to the quarterback position, but also the 12th-fewest points to opposing running backs. The Packers could opt to attack the Vikings' defensive blitzes with more passing, given that Josh Jacobs (knee) is questionable to play. Love is a very polarizing quarterback for fantasy, but he's at the low end of the streaming quarterbacks for fantasy in Week 12 if you need to plug in an option at the last minute.
