Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 12:
Christian Watson, WR, Packers
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (knee) was listed as a limited participant during Wednesday's practice session. This comes as no surprise given the Packers have been cautious with Watson since he returned to the field a few weeks ago. Watson returned in Week 8 after recovering from a torn ACL from last year.
He posted his best game of the season last week when he hauled in four of his five targets for 46 yards and two touchdowns in the win over the New York Giants. Fantasy managers shouldn't have anything to worry about as Watson being limited is likely just a precaution. The Packers wideouts are extremely banged up right now, so Watson could be looking at a heavy workload in Week 12.
Alec Pierce, WR, Colts
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce has become a trustworthy option for fantasy managers this season. In eight games, Pierce has hauled in 28 of 52 targets for 585 yards and a touchdown, averaging 9.8 half-PPR points per game. As of late, Pierce has been dominant, leading the NFL in receiving yards (366) from Week 7 to Week 10.
His connection with Daniel Jones has been on point this season, and the Colts' offensive performance has opened more big-play opportunities for the deep threat receiver. However, he faces a very tough matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, who have allowed the fewest receiving yards to wide receivers in 2025. While a tough matchup causes a lot more risk, Pierce is worth starting as a WR3/FLEX play in Week 12.
Darnell Mooney, WR, Falcons
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Darnell Mooney is expected to see more targets moving forward. It's been a rough 2025 campaign for the sixth-year receiver, who has caught just 16 of 42 targets for 224 yards and no touchdowns in eight games. However, with Drake London (knee) likely to miss multiple weeks due to a PCL injury, Mooney should step into a much larger role.
Both Brock Bowers and Ricky Pearsall dealt with PCL sprains this season and missed four or more weeks. With Michael Penix Jr. (knee) out for the season, Kirk Cousins will take over at quarterback and could lean on Mooney heavily, like he did at times in 2024. Mooney now projects as the top option in the passing game and should be one of the most popular waiver-wire adds this week.
Travis Etienne Jr., RB, Jaguars
Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. (shoulder) was wearing a non-contact jersey at Thursday's practice, per Ryan O'Halloran of The Florida Times-Union. It looks like Etienne will be listed as a limited participant in practice for the second straight day after injuring his shoulder in Sunday's win over the Los Angeles Chargers. Rookie RB Bhayshul Tuten (ankle) also hurt his ankle in Week 11 and was limited on Wednesday, but he wasn't in a non-contact jersey on Thursday.
Etienne was productive on Sunday with two touchdowns in a blowout win over the Chargers in which the Jags leaned heavily on the ground game, but Tuten also saw his biggest workload of the year and scored a rushing touchdown. Both RBs could be active this weekend in Arizona, but if Etienne is less than 100%, Tuten could be the favored option out of Jacksonville's backfield in Week 12.
