Joe Mixon Injury Update
Entering Week 10, there is no significant update regarding Mixon's availability. In fact, the Texans only provide minor updates in October, which does not suggest he is anywhere close to a return. Last month, the team's general manager, Nick Caserio, stated that his status was "in limbo" for the remainder of the season.
Given the lack of updates and the unclear timeline, managers should expect Mixon to remain on the shelf for the foreseeable future.
Since he has yet to step into the practice field or make any significant progress in his rehab plan, managers should not expect him to be in contention to return to the lineup anytime soon.

Joe Mixon Fantasy Football Outlook
Due to the lack of progress Mixon has made, managers should not expect him to return this season. As a result, managers should feel comfortable cutting ties with the veteran running back in all leagues ahead of Week 10. Even though he is IR eligible on most platforms, he will face an uphill battle to return this season and is not worth holding in a reserve post.
Instead, managers should look to players like Brandon Aiyuk (knee), who will have a clear path back from the IR this season. When looking at potential running backs, they should pivot to high-end RB2 handcuffs like Blake Corum, Isaiah Davis, Ray Davis, or Sean Tucker. With James Cook (foot) now sidelined with injuries and Bucky Irving (foot/shoulder) still in danger of missing time, both Davis and Tucker could see more opportunities in the immediate future.

Both Davis and Corum carry low standalone upside but could enter high-end RB2 starter if their team's starter were to miss time. In Houston, managers should expect Nick Chubb and Woody Marks to continue operating as the lead options in the backfield for the remainder of their regular season.
