Christian Kirk Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Leading up to their season opener against the Los Angeles Rams, Kirk was held out of practice but still carried a questionable tag to Sunday's game. However, shortly before the game, Kirk was officially ruled out, which paved the way for rookies Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel and veteran Xavier Hutchinson to have a prominent role in the first game.
However, neither wideout stood out as the Texans scored only nine points (all on field goals).
Fantasy managers should pay close attention to his stats leading up to Week 2, as his early-week practice status could be a significant determining factor for his ability when they face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday evening. According to reports from ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Texans could opt to lean on the side of caution with him and keep him out during Week 2 as well.

Christian Kirk Fantasy Football Outlook
Even though he may not be available for Week 2, Kirk is still worth holding on all rosters in 12-team leagues. When healthy, the 28-year-old should face minimal competition to emerge as the team's No. 2 option opposite Nico Collins. During their season opener, quarterback C.J. Stroud was under constant pressure, and a reliable option in the slot could significantly improve this offense.
Last season, Kirk battled injuries as well, but was effective when on the field. Through the four games in which Kirk logged more than 45 offensive snaps, he averaged 10.7 PPR points per game and saw an impressive 7.8 targets per game.
Given his high-floor as a slot receiver, Kirk would carry strong WR3/flex value in all PPR formats once cleared to return.
