Gleyber Torres Available to Pinch-Hit Sunday
Gleyber Torres (neck) is out of the lineup against the Cleveland Guardians on Sunday. Torres left Saturday's 1-0 win early with a neck contusion. The good news is that it's not a significant injury, as Torres expects to be available to pinch-hit Sunday if the Tigers need him. The former Yankee, 28, has been a key part of Detroit's lineup in his first year with the team. He's slashing .279/.387/.424 with nine homers, 44 RBI, 46 runs scored, and four stolen bases over 331 plate appearances. Colt Keith will take Torres' place at the keystone on Sunday.
