Kyle Larson of Hendrick Motorsports ended the Coca-Cola 600 in disappointment as he finished in the 37th position. This week, Larson participated in the Memorial Day Double, which is where a driver tries to compete in the Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600 and try to finish both races on the same day. After crashing out of the Indy 500 just before the halfway mark, Larson travelled to Charlotte, where he began the Coca-Cola 600 from the second position. The No. 5 Chevrolet driver immediately competed for the lead with Chase Briscoe on the opening lap before William Byron passed them both for the lead. After passing Briscoe, Larson caught up to Byron and took the lead for himself, leading up until he slid off of turn four on lap 42 to bring out the caution. Larson's car would never be the same from this point as he remained in the back of the pack for the rest of the race. He finished the first stage in 32nd place and the second in 26th place. The day for Larson ended on lap 245, when a multicar incident occurred with Daniel Suarez, Ryan Blaney, and Briscoe, which involved Larson and left him unable to continue. Larson was credited with a 37th-place finish and lost the regular-season points lead to his teammate, Byron.--Sean Engel - RotoBaller
