New York Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin has agreed to an eight-year extension with the team. He'll be paid $92 million over the course of the deal, making it the largest goalie contract in NHL history. With the new contract, Shesterkin's salary cap hit will rise to $11.5 million. The Russian netminder is currently on a four-year, $22.67 million deal, which expires at the end of the season. Shesterkin has certainly earned a big pay raise after developing into one of the best goalies in the world. He's sporting a 143-68-18 career record with a 2.48 goals-against average, a .920 save percentage, and 16 shutouts. The 2024-25 campaign has been a bit tricky for Shesterkin, as he carries an 8-9-1 record, but with his future now sorted, we might see an improvement in form from the Rangers' No. 1 glove.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
