Week 14 Defense Outlooks for Fantasy Football

Tampa Bay Buccaneers DST - Fantasy Football Outlook

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense has struggled at times this season, but they do have a favorable matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 14. This defensive unit usually does a nice job at stopping the rushing attack, but they've had no answers for the passing game. The Carolina Panthers carved up this defense for 367 yards last week. The expectation is that this defense does rebound this weekend. However, it's worth noting that quarterback Aidan O'Connell threw for 340 yards against the Kansas City Chiefs defense last week. Fantasy managers streaming the Bucs defense shouldn't expect great results, but they should be a serviceable option.

- Andy Webb, RotoBaller

New Orleans Saints DST - Fantasy Football Outlook

The New Orleans Saints D/ST looks like a solid streaming candidate in Week 14 despite their recent struggles to produce fantasy value. In the games bookending their Week 12 bye, the Saints allowed 14 and 21 points and a combined five sacks. They also failed to record a turnover after starting the year with at least one interception or fumble recovered in nine of their first ten games. Their upcoming matchup against the New York Giants offers a solid chance for a bounceback.

For starters, the Giants are averaging just 14.8 points on offense per game. They have also allowed the second-highest pressure rate and eighth-highest sack rate in the league this year. Interceptions have been relatively scarce but their nine fumbles lost to defensive units tie them for the third-most frequent offender. With six teams out on bye and a favorable matchup on deck, the Saints are a solid option to fill the D/ST slot in Week 14.

- Dan Stephens, RotoBaller

Pittsburgh Steelers DST - Fantasy Football Outlook

The Pittsburgh Steelers defense has been consistently solid for fantasy this season and should be locked in for a divisional rematch at home against the Cleveland Browns in Week 14. The weather conditions for Sunday's contest should allow for more passing volume than we saw when these two teams first met in Week 12. That is good news for Pittsburgh as Browns quarterback Jameis Winston has thrown seven interceptions in five starts, including two pick-sixes in a loss last week.

The Steelers lead the NFL in turnovers forced per game and average more sacks at home than on the road, making this a great matchup to trust them in. Pittsburgh's DST projects as one of the best fantasy options of the week and should be started in all formats.
