Tyler Lockett fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 8 (2024). Should you start or sit Tyler Lockett for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Start in 14+ Team PPR leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR4
ANALYSIS: Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett will face a very tough assignment in Week 8 when he takes on the Buffalo Bills. They're one of the best defenses in the league against outside receivers, and if fellow WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba primarily plays out of the slot, it could be a rough day.
Watched all of the Bills' Defense 3rd down passes and realized that Cam Lewis has been a targeted man.
3rd down stats
Targets - 11
Completions - 9
Yards - 129
Opp QB Rating - 79.2
PBUs - 1Seems like teams primarily attacking him/or area of field when Bills are in Cover 3.… pic.twitter.com/nt0iA0w1c3

The game plan that makes the most sense for Seattle is to run the ball a lot (the Bills are terrible against running backs) and throw lots of short passes and target the slot (Buffalo also isn't great at defending that). It makes sense to do these things against a defense that's focused on shutting down big pass plays.
The "start a player by looking at their last few games" philosophy doesn't make much sense, yet most fantasy platforms like Sleeper, ESPN, and others apply that. That's why it's good for you to read our articles for added insight.
No one can always be right, but the NFL is a matchup-based game, so not looking at the matchup makes it hard to make informed decisions. Outside of deeper leagues, you should probably sit Lockett this week.
