Wide Receiver Waiver Wire Pickups - Top Fantasy Football WR Adds for Week 6 Include Josh Downs, Darnell Mooney, Alec Pierce, Allen Lazard, more

Darnell Mooney - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Justin Carter's fantasy football WR waiver wire pickups for Week 6 of the 2024 NFL season. His free agent wide receivers to add, stream, and stash off waivers.

Week 5 of the 2024 NFL season is almost behind us. It was an exciting week of football, with some really competitive football games. Thursday night's Falcons/Buccaneers game was especially entertaining. It almost redeemed the concept of Thursday Night Football. Anyway, here is our Week 6 wide receiver fantasy football waiver wire pickups list.

Below, you'll find some wide receivers that you should be targeting on the fantasy football waiver wire ahead of Week 6. Not all of these waiver wire options are the same. Some players may be better in PPR or deeper leagues, so it’s not a one-size-fits-all comparison. Use your best judgment when deciding which of these players is the right fit for your roster.

Be sure to also check out our Waiver Wire Adds for Week 6 for help at all the skill positions. All players on this list are around 50% rostered or below.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Wide Receiver Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups

Darnell Mooney, Atlanta Falcons - 48% rostered

Man, that Falcons/Bucs game was killer. One of my favorite regular-season watching experiences in recent memory. Atlanta wound up with two different 100-yard receivers in the overtime win: Drake London and Darnell Mooney.

London's rostered in 99% of Yahoo! leagues, so there's no point talking about him now. But Mooney is out there on the wire in about half of all leagues right now and that has to change this week.

Mooney was targeted 16 times on Thursday night, catching nine of those for 105 yards and two touchdowns. He now has 50 or more yards in four consecutive games and is a must-add because he proved this week that not only is his floor high, but his ceiling is through the roof when Kirk Cousins is playing his best football.

Jakobi Meyers, Las Vegas Raiders - 54% rostered

Well, Davante Adams requested a trade. While he should be able to return from his hamstring injury in Week 6, it's not clear if he'll be a Raider or not. At this point, we should consider Jakobi Meyers the WR1 in Vegas.

In Sunday's loss to Denver, Meyers was targeted nine times, catching six passes for 72 yards. He now has at least nine targets and five catches in three consecutive games. He's a WR3 play going forward.

Wan'Dale Robinson, New York Giants - 53% rostered

With Malik Nabers out due to a concussion, Wan'Dale Robinson served as the WR1 for the Giants on Sunday, and his role...well, it didn't change much. His nine targets were smack dab in the middle of his 2024 results. Robinson is going to continue to be a high-floor option in fantasy going forward because of his target share. He’s a strong WR3 play in PPR leagues

Jordan Whittington, Los Angeles Rams - 15% rostered

Jordan Whittington served in an elevated role again this week with Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp sidelined, as he was targeted 10 times, catching seven passes for 89 yards.

Whittington now has 18 targets over the past two games. He's a strong WR3 with upside at the moment, but two issues keep him from being listed higher. First, the Rams have a Week 6 bye. Second, Kupp could return in Week 7, which would lessen his role.

Alec Pierce, Indianapolis Colts - 20% rostered

This Colts offense works really well with Joe Flacco under center. Just as the case was with Anthony Richardson slinging the rock, Alec Pierce was used as a deep threat for Indy, and he delivered with three catches for 134 yards and a touchdown.

That's two games with over 100 yards for Pierce, but he has just six total targets in those two contests. Pierce has a ton of upside because he was house one at any time, but his slight target share also makes him incredibly risky.

Josh Downs, Indianapolis Colts - 40% rostered

How you order Pierce and his Colts teammate Josh Downs is up to you. Pierce has a higher ceiling, but Downs's role in this offense gives him a high floor. The second-year receiver was targeted 12 times this week, catching nine of those for 69 yards.

He isn't the deep threat that Pierce or Michael Pittman Jr. can be, but Downs is valuable in PPR leagues, where his short receptions add up. He has 17 catches over the past two games.

Allen Lazard, New York Jets - 36% rostered

The Jets have a bye coming up and if they trade for Davante Adams then Allen Lazard would lose much of his value, but it’s worth noting that Lazard has a bright spot in the Jets’s London game this weekend. Lazard was targeted 10 times, his highest mark of the season, and the former Packer found the end zone for the fourth time all season.

Deeper Wide Receiver Fantasy Football Pickups For Week 6

Ray-Ray McCloud III, Atlanta Falcons - 7% rostered

Ray-Ray McCloud didn't have the kind of game that London and Mooney had, but he did finish with 50-plus receiving yards for the third time this season. McCloud was targeted a season-high nine times, catching six passes for 66 yards. The Falcons won't pass this many times every week, but McCloud has grown his role lately and should have a high floor against the Panthers next week.

Tutu Atwell, Los Angeles Rams - 19% rostered

Honestly, I could just copy and paste what I said about Jordan Whittington here, as Atwell is the lower-upside version of him. Both had 10 targets this week, but Atwell had six catches or 58 yards to Whittington's seven for 89. He has WR4 appeal if Kupp remains out for Week 7.

Darius Slayton, New York Giants - 3% rostered

Darius Slayton always finds a way. We write him off every offseason and then at some point, he emerges as one of the key pieces of the Giants offense.

Take this week for example. With Nabers out, Slayton was targeted 11 times, his highest total of the season. This offense is focused heavily on just two receivers, making Slayton a strong streaming play if Nabers is slow to return from the concussion.

Adonai Mitchell, Indianapolis Colts - 9% rostered

I remain convinced that at some point, rookie Adonai Mitchell is going to break out. I'm not convinced that a breakout is imminent, but Mitchell seeing a career-high seven targets this week is encouraging.

Rashod Bateman, Baltimore Ravens - 9% rostered

I mean, we all know the drill with Rashod Bateman at this point. He's not a star, but usually, he'll get a handful of targets and sometimes he'll get a touchdown. He did on Sunday when he recorded season highs in targets, receptions, and receiving yards.

With the Commanders' pass defense up next, Bateman has streaming upside in deeper leagues. All it takes is a red zone look from quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Michael Wilson, Arizona Cardinals - 13% rostered

Michael Wilson might not have a ton of upside, but his six targets on Sunday give him 22 of them over the last three games. If you value a high floor more than a high ceiling, Wilson could have a spot on your roster.

Jalen Coker, Carolina Panthers - 0% rostered

A lot of people thought this was the Xavier Legette breakout week, but Legette suffered a shoulder injury in the second quarter on Sunday and didn't return. That opened up a role for Jalen Coker, who caught four passes for 68 yards. These were his first catches of the season, but there's some streaming appeal if Legette misses any time.
