When is Deyvison De Los Santos getting called up? Will Deyvison De Los Santos play in July of this MLB season? Read about Deyvison De Los Santos' debut date and fantasy baseball prospect updates for 2024.
The Miami Marlins (43-73) are one of the worst teams in major league baseball, period. Their major league roster was already bad to begin with, and they traded away a lot of their depth and current talent at this year's trade deadline.
This organization is building for the future and does, however, have a loaded farm system. They have four prospects in MLB Pipelines' top 100, but it also goes much deeper than that. The club's number seven prospect, Deyvison De Los Santos, has been tearing it up as of late and has drawn lots of attention his way.
Acquired from the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for A.J. Puk on July 25, De Los Santos has already shown his tremendous upside in ten games for the Marlins Triple-A affiliate, the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp. In 34 at-bats, he is slashing .289/.400/.553 with three homers, seven RBI, and a 6:9 BB:K.
How High Is Deyvison De Los Santos’ Fantasy Potential?
De Los Santos’ fantasy potential is extremely high. He has exceptional raw power and exit velocities that rank amongst the best in all of the minor leagues. As with many young power hitters, though, he does have some swing-and-miss in his game. This season, though 97 games split across three different levels of play, he has a BB:K of 29:93.
At only 21 years old, he has plenty of time to continue his development and become one of the game's most consistent power bats. Throughout 97 games (380 AB) split across three different levels of play this season, he is slashing .321/.379/.626. He also has 31 HR and 90 RBI, which lead all of the minors.

In terms of defensive versatility, De Los Santos can play the corner infield positions. He is not extraordinarily mobile, however he does have a pretty good arm. De Los Santos is a no-brainer pick-up when he gets called up to the majors and is an obvious stash in deeper leagues.
When Might Deyvison De Los Santos Get A Major-League Opportunity?
The Marlins MLB team is playing for the future. The rest of this season will be used for young players to audition for playing time and starting roles in 2025 and beyond.
De Los Santos is quite young, however, if he keeps hitting like how he is now, the Marlins may have no choice but to give him a shot. Their starting 1B and 3B, Jonah Bride and Emmanuel Rivera (both 28), likely will not play a part in this team's long-term future. This helps De Los Santons’ case as he can easily slide into a starting role and will have the assistance of veteran players.
The club has made no announcement or indication of when they plan to call up De Los Santos, however, something will likely come soon.
