ANALYSIS: The Cleveland Guardians finally called up highly-touted prospect Kyle Manzardo on May 6. Although the call-up was out of necessity with Steven Kwan hitting the IL, Manzardo is deserving. Through 128 PA at AAA Columbus this season, Manzardo slashed .303/.375/.642 with nine HR and 20 RBI.
Although Manzardo has started slowly at the big league level, having posted just one extra-base hit across 17 PA, he has the pedigree to become an impact fantasy player as shown by the stat line he produced in Triple-A this season. He has been placed in a Guardians lineup that has posted the 12th-most runs scored in baseball to this point in the season, which should help his productivity for fantasy managers. He is a solid addition in deeper mixed leagues for the time being.
