josh allen fantasy football rankings NFL injury news DFS lineup picks

Today's top NFL DFS lineup picks for DraftKings, FanDuel - Chiefs vs. Bills showdown slate for the Divisional Round (Jan 21, 2024). Kipp's NFL daily fantasy sleeper picks.

Welcome back, RotoBallers! We have what could end up being a pretty fun showdown today as we have a battle between the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills in a Divisional Round matchup.

We've been pretty successful over the past few seasons with these showdown slates and hopefully, that trend continues from last year into this year. Most of us started our fantasy journeys with football, so it's always nice when it comes around. Thanks to the advanced analytics of today, I'll do my best to provide you with as much in-depth analysis as possible regarding positional matchups and the like to help put some lunch money in your pocket. Let's make some coin this season gang, and let's get right to it.

I will be providing you with daily fantasy football picks on FanDuel and DraftKings for the Chiefs vs. Bills showdown slate on January 21, 2024. These NFL DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on both DraftKings and FanDuel. MVP/Captain - NFL DFS Lineup Picks

Josh Allen - QB, $18,300 (DK), $17,500 (FD)

Key Stats - 2023 stats- 4,336 passing yards, 29 passing touchdowns, 524 rushing yards, and 15 rushing touchdowns.

Josh Allen makes a ton of sense in the captain spot for this game as he is the most versatile option in the Bills' offense. He has combined for 44 total touchdowns this season. He has rushed for 60 or more yards in each of his previous two games, including a 74-yard rushing performance against the Steelers last week in the Wildcard round. He will almost certainly be required to use his legs in this game as he did in Week 14 at Kansas City when he carried the ball 10 times for 32 yards and a touchdown.

Patrick Mahomes- QB, $15,900 (DK), $15,000 (FD)

Key Stats - 2023 Stats: 4,183 passing yards, 27 touchdowns and 389 rushing yards.

Patrick Mahomes was solid in the Wildcard round against Miami as he threw for 262 passing yards and one touchdown while rushing twice for 41 yards. He will be up against a Bills defense that was strong against the pass this season, however, he did manage to throw for 271 yards, one touchdown, and one interception against them in Week 14. The Chiefs are also on the road and listed as slight underdogs, which could lead to some additional passing attempts for Mahomes in this one. Mahomes has also been known to use his legs a bit more in the playoffs as he has averaged nearly 30 rushing yards per game across his 15 games played.

Other Captains/MVPs: James Cook, Isiah Pacheco

Flex Plays - NFL DFS Lineup Picks

James Cook - RB, $8,200 (DK), $12,000 (FD)

Key Stats - 2023 Stats: 1,567 yards from scrimmage and six total touchdowns.

James Cook has carried the ball an average of 18 times per game since a Week 15 win at home against the Dallas Cowboys. He has averaged 82 rushing yards per game over this five-game span. Now, Cook will be up against a Chiefs defense that has allowed an average of nearly 87 rushing yards per game to the running back position. They have also allowed an average of 4.6 yards per carry to running backs this season. In their first meeting back in Week 14, Cook carried the ball 10 times for 58 rushing yards. He will almost certainly carry the ball close to 15 times in this matchup. The fact that the Bills are slight favorites could also help him here.

Rashee Rice- RB, $9,600 (DK), $12,500 (FD)

Key Stats - 102 targets, 79 receptions, and seven receiving touchdowns.

Rashee Rice has averaged nearly 10 targets per game since Week 12. He has also averaged 93 receiving yards per game over this span while going for at least 70 receiving yards in all but two of those games. He will be up against a Bills defense that allowed 128 receiving yards per game to wide receivers, however, Rice managed to burn them for seven receptions and 72 receiving yards in their first meeting back in Week 14. Rice is going to have to be a primary focus of this Chiefs' offense if they want to succeed, and given his recent usage, that is exactly how this should play out.

Other Flex Options: Stefon Diggs

Value Plays - NFL DFS Lineup Picks

Khalil Shakir - WR, $5,400 (DK), $9,000 (FD)

Key Stats - 2023 Stats: 45 targets, 39 receptions, 611 receiving yards, two touchdowns.

Shakir has seen an average of over four targets per game over the previous three weeks. He has also averaged over four receptions and nearly 60 receiving yards per game over this same span. He has become more involved in this offense throughout the season and could be a focal point on Sunday. The Chiefs are going to do what they can to take as much of Stefon Diggs as possible out of this offense, which should leave Shakir open with the ability to make some big plays. Although he saw just one target in the Bills' Week 14 matchup against the Chiefs, he should be in line for three to five targets in this one.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling - WR, $1,800 (DK), $6,500 (FD)

Key Stats - 2023 Stats: 42 targets, 21 receptions, 315 receiving yards, and one touchdown.

This is a total dart throw, but at the price point, it could be worth it. MVS has seen five targets over the previous two games and could have a bit more of an expanded role with Skyy Moore out of the picture. He has also caught one pass in each of those two games. Quite frankly, we are looking for a deep shot that MVS hauls in for a touchdown with this low-cost play.

Other Value Play Options: Bills D/ST

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and good luck everyone!
