Welcome to Double Gameweek 7 of the FPL season, RotoBallers! This is the third year covering FPL on the site, and we are bringing you more coverage than ever before. We will publish the Gameweek Preview, consisting of a Staff Roundtable and our weekly rankings, every week. Then, once a month, we will publish our newest article The Watchlist, a review of the previous month and a look ahead to the upcoming fixtures.
Six gameweeks down, 32 more to go. Luton Town and Burnley have a double gameweek to make up their Gameweek 2 postponement this week. Besides that, Saturday features eight games, including a Spurs-Liverpool showdown to cap off the day. Then, Sunday gives us a battle between Nottingham Forest and Brentford, and Monday night has a London derby between Fulham and a struggling Chelsea side.
The Fantasy Premier League Double Gameweek 7 deadline is 6:00 AM EST on Saturday, September 30, for the Aston Villa-Brighton matchup. Fantasy Premier League - Double Gameweek 7 Rankings
Our weekly rankings highlight players who could be worth a punt in your Fantasy Premier League squad. While the rankings will be filled with familiar names, a low-owned player with an easy fixture will rise up the one-week charts. For each gameweek, we will provide our top 15 goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, and forwards. These can also be applied as DFS rankings for your weekend contests.
Gameweek 6 Fantasy Premier League High Scorers
- Goalkeeper: Bernd Leno, Fulham - 10 points
- Defender: Kieran Trippier, Newcastle - 18 points
- Midfielder: Kaoru Mitoma, Brighton & Son Heung-min, Spurs - 14 points
- Forward: Ollie Watkins, Aston Villa & Carlton Morris, Luton Town - 9 points
FPL Goalkeepers - Double Gameweek 7 Rankings
- Players who have two games in one week will top the rankings. That's precisely what's happened here with Thomas Kaminski from Luton and James Trafford from Burnley. Yes, they have two bites at the clean sheet apple, but I don't expect either to come good. I wouldn't have them in my FPL squad this weekend.
- On the other hand, Alphonse Areola is a fantastic pick for Double Gameweek 7. He faces a Sheffield United side that just shipped eight goals against Newcastle and is yet to register a point in the Premier League. A 40 percent clean sheet percentage is significant, and Areola would undoubtedly be one of my two shot-stoppers if I were on a Wildcard.

FPL Defenders - Double Gameweek 7 Rankings
- After a hat trick of assists, the buy-low period for Kieran Trippier is over. Everyone is on the Newcastle defender once again. Many managers will have to wait until they activate the Wildcard to get him in but now is as good of a time as ever for the Toon army Captain.
- If there's one defender to get from either of the double gameweek sides, it's Issa Kabore. The Luton left back leads all his teammates along the backline with 0.80 xGI and 10 FPL points.

FPL Midfielders - Double Gameweek 7 Rankings
- Despite the conversations around ditching Manchester United assets, Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes are in the top three for the Double Gameweek 7 rankings. The last time United played at home, they were trounced 3-1 by Brighton, then followed that up with a dismal 1-0 win over Burnley. You can hold them both for another week, but you may only need one to cover this game.
- Bukayo Saka cracked the top 11 this week, but he may miss this weekend's duel versus Bournemouth. If that's the case, it may be the time to move on from Arsenal's talisman for a few games. After Bournemouth, the Gunners battle Man City, Chelsea, and Newcastle in three of the following four fixtures.

FPL Forwards - Double Gameweek 7 Rankings
- Carlton Morris is the only Luton Town or Burnley attacker I would consider for Double Gameweek 7. That comes with the caveat that you are using your Wildcard in Gameweek 8, so you can immediately transfer him out. He's on penalties for Luton and has two already this year. Another one could come up during a Double Gameweek, but it gives me major deja vu to the Watford and Burnley doubles from a couple of seasons ago.
- Newcastle dominated Sheffield United from set pieces last Sunday, and now it's West Ham's turn to bury the blades. With James Ward-Prowse supplying sublime crosses, it feels like a week for Michail Antonio to find himself on the end of a picture-perfect pass.
