Free College Baseball Betting Picks - Today's Best Bets, Expert Predictions (5/12/23)

Baseball Betting Picks - Today's Best Bets

Casey Wilson's top NCAA college baseball betting picks and best bets for today's NCAA Baseball games on 5/12/23. His free picks include moneylines and moneyline parlays.

We are entering the best part of the College Baseball season as teams are jockeying for outright bids and conference tournament regular season titles/seeding. We have two weekends left before the conference tournaments. Regionals, Super Regionals, and the College World Series are on the horizon, believe it or not. If you are familiar with the NCAA basketball tournament, college baseball is run similarly and has just as much madness. Teams are grouped into 16 pods of four teams hosted by the top 16 teams in the country. Being able to host is a significant advantage. At this point in the season, it is what the top teams are focusing on.

If you read the article over the last two weeks, you knew how close we were to throwing a perfect game two weeks ago as we were eight out of nine on bets. It was a huge plus unit night for us. Last Friday, we won eight out of 12 bets. Let's keep the momentum rolling into another Friday here at RotoBaller.

Sportsbooks have recently taken away game totals and run lines in College Baseball. This article will focus on moneylines and often parlaying teams to get better odds. Not all books have college lines, so DraftKings Sportsbook will be my primary book. If you find a line in another book, feel free to use that as well. With no further adieu, here are my favorite bets for Friday, May 12, 2023.

Today's College Baseball Betting Picks

Washington @ #24 Oregon

Huskies: Stu Flesland III | Ducks: Logan Mercado

Washington (29-14) travels to Eugene for a three-game Pac-12 conference showdown against the Ducks of Oregon (31-16). Washington is coming off back-to-back series wins backed by an outstanding pitching staff. They have a two-headed monster in Stu Flesland and Kiefer Lord. Flesland gets the ball tomorrow and has a 4-2 record with a 4.28 ERA. Last weekend, Washington surrendered only six total runs and has not given up more than two runs in four straight games.

Oregon will send senior Logan Mercado to the mound. This will be the second straight Friday that the Ducks will be without their star ace pitcher, Jace Stoffal. Mercado is 4-0 with a 6.16 ERA. This is a different team when Stoffal is not pitching, and last weekend we attacked them in the same spot. The Huskies will have a significant advantage on the mound here, which is why I love them even on the road.

If this game stays close, the Huskies will trout out Case Matter at the back end of their bullpen. Matter hasn't allowed a run in 12 consecutive appearances. He leads the team with four saves and has a ridiculous 0.49 ERA. The offense has had a spark with Freshman Aiva Arquette returning from injury. Washington is rounding into form late this season and Oregon is scuffling, making this our first bet of the night.

Pick: Washington Moneyline (+140) DraftKings Sportsbook

Today's College Baseball Betting Picks

#6 South Carolina @ #3 Arkansas

Gamecocks: Eli Jones | Razorbacks: Hagen Smith

South Carolina (36-12) travels to Baum-Walker Stadium to face Arkansas (36-12) in a top-10 showdown in the SEC. This should be a fantastic series to follow. I believe Arkansas is the best team in the country; yes, they are better than LSU and Wake Forrest. I will be betting on them to win the national title, but I don't make any future bets until the bracket is released.

Arkansas is 28-3 at home this season and is coming off a three-game sweep of Mississippi State. Hagen Smith will be making his second consecutive Friday start after he was bumped from the role earlier in the season. The left-hander has been electric this year with a 7-1 record and a 2.56 ERA.

He has struck out 79 batters in 42 innings and will be a tough matchup for the Gamecocks. As long as he can avoid Gavin Casas (.264 AVG, 19 HR, 47 RBI, 50 R), Triston's younger brother, and freshman phenom Ethan Petry (.395 AVG, 21 HR, 68 RBI, 44 R) in the middle of the order, he should have another great start in this spot.

The Razorbacks are led by Jace Bohrofen (.373 AVG, 13 HR, 44 RBI, 48 R), Kendall Diggs (.329 AVG, 10 HR, 52 RBI, 44 R), and Jared Wegner (.351 AVG, 12 HR, 44 RBI, 37 R). Diggs and Bohrofen came up huge last weekend, and Diggs hit a grand slam on Sunday to put an exclamation point on a weekend series sweep. I love the hogs, especially on a Friday at home with Hagen Smith on the bump.

Pick: Arkansas Moneyline (-135) DraftKings Sportsbook

Today's College Baseball Betting Picks

#17 Kentucky @ #23 Tennessee

Wildcats: Travis Smith | Volunteers: Andrew Lindsey

We have another SEC showdown as Kentucky (34-13) heads to Knoxville to battle Tennessee (33-16). Tennessee is a different team at home this season. They are 30-4 in the confines of Neyland Stadium. The Big Orange has back-to-back SEC weekend sweeps at home against a top-five Vandy team and Mississippi State.

Andrew Lindsey has shined on Fridays after being moved to the rotation, as he has a 0-2 record with a 3.02 ERA. The Vols have been turning to Chase Burnes and his 100 mph fastball on Fridays to close out games, and he has been electric. I have fallen into the trap of betting on Tennessee when Chase Dollander pitches, but he has been so underwhelming this year that it's time to start attacking them when he's on the bump. The good thing is he doesn't pitch today.

Christian Moore has been lighting it up for Tennessee, as he has six home runs over the last two weeks. Tennessee is getting momentum at the right time of the year. When they are at home, they are a top-five team in the country. The talent is there for them to make a run, and I do not believe in the Wildcats.

Pick: Tennessee Moneyline (-160) DraftKings Sportsbook
