The 2023 NFL Draft is in the rearview mirror. There were 259 players drafted over the three-day event, including 102 over the first two days.
One of those players was Cincinnati wide receiver Tre Tucker. The former Bearcat was a third-round pick by the Las Vegas Raiders. He got drafted with the 100th overall pick as the 14th wide receiver off the board.
However, what can Raiders fans and fantasy football players expect from Tucker in the NFL?

What Did Tre Tucker Accomplish At Cincinnati?
The former Bearcat had a quiet freshman season in 2019, totaling only seven receptions for 92 receiving yards and zero touchdowns. Tucker had better numbers as a sophomore, totaling 18 receptions for 236 receiving yards and three touchdowns. However, the young receiver earned a larger role in 2021.
Tucker had 34 receptions for 426 receiving yards and two touchdowns that year. However, Alec Pierce was the star of Cincinnati’s passing attack, totaling 52 receptions for 884 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. When Pierce left for the NFL, Tucker became a critical part of the offense last season.
After totaling only 59 receptions for 754 receiving yards and five touchdowns over the first three years of his career, the former Bearcat had a career year in 2022. Tucker had 52 receptions for 672 receiving yards and three touchdowns, all career highs. Furthermore, he finished second on the team in every category, only behind Tyler Scott.
Is Tre Tucker A Good Fit For The Raiders?
While Tucker had a productive college career, the rookie receiver has another element to his game. The former Cincinnati Bearcat can return kicks. He had 67 kickoff returns for 1,670 receiving yards and two touchdowns in his career.
Meanwhile, the Raiders averaged 20.9 yards per kickoff return, the eighth-fewest in the NFL. By comparison, Tucker averaged 24.9 yards per kickoff return at Cincinnati.
Offensively, the former Bearcat joins a crowded wide receiver room. Davante Adams had one of the highest target shares in the NFL last season. Meanwhile, Las Vegas signed Jakobi Meyers, DeAndre Carter, Cam Sims, and Phillip Dorsett in free agency. Furthermore, Hunter Renfrow had over 1,000 receiving yards and nine touchdowns two years ago.
Unfortunately, Tucker will be more valuable to the Raiders than fantasy players. The only hope fantasy players have for the former Bearcat is for Renfrow or Meyers to miss significant time this season.
