Mason Miller Impresses Athletics Brass At Spring Training
Mason Miller has impressed many in spring training, especially manager Mark Kotsay. Kotsay recently said that Miller's stuff is "the most impressive we've seen in terms of a prospect in our organization." Injuries have limited the 2021 draft pick to only five minor-league appearances between High-A and Triple-A. His one spring training appearance highlighted his elite stuff, as Miller used his triple-digit fastball, sinking cutter, and sweeping slider to strike out five hitters in two innings. There is hope within the organization that an injury-free season can fast-track their fourth-ranked prospect to the majors by the end of this year. Miller is unlikely to make the majors this year, but his tantalizing stuff should make him a target for those in dynasty leagues.
