Baltimore Orioles relief pitcher Mychal Givens (knee) appears headed to the injured list to open the 2023 season, as general manager Mike Elias said the 32-year-old right-hander is running out of time to get ready. Givens tested his injured left knee during a simulated game on Sunday, but he again felt pain and threw only 10 pitches before meeting with the training staff, according to manager Brandon Hyde. "He's doing fine, he's doing better," Elias said. "I don't think it's anything catastrophic." Even when healthy, Givens won't be in line for save opportunities in Baltimore, as Felix Bautista earned the role as the team's regular closer with his performance in 2022.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
