The New York Yankees agreed to an estimated $4.4 million deal with international outfield prospect Brandon Mayea on Sunday, according to a source. Mayea is considered MLB Pipeline's No. 9 prospect on their top-50 international prospect list. He's considered one of the most exciting prospects in this class and is a premium athlete with advanced tools for his age. Mayea possesses rare bat speed and power, and one scout described him as a "mini Gary Sheffield." In addition to the strength and power, he has an advanced approach at the plate despite also being very aggressive at times.
