Wild Card NFL DFS Cheat Sheet: Expert Picks and Lineups (Premium Content)

All other Premium Tools can be accessed on the premium dashboard.

Welcome to the Wild Card slate of the NFL Season! Each week, I'll be bringing you our famous NFL DFS Cheat Sheet with expert research and picks for cash games and GPPs. Here are a few notes about the sheet.

  • I will now be using data exclusively from 2022!
  • The "fantasy points allowed rank" reflects how a player's opponent ranked in fantasy points allowed to their specific position. The lower the number, the better the matchup.
  • DVOA is a stat created by Football Outsiders that stands for Defense-adjusted Value Over Average and takes into account the quality of the previous offensive opponents. This rating is being shown for both the offensive player's team and their opponent.
  • A play labeled "cash" is a higher-owned play that is recommended for cash games. A "strong" play is playable in all formats. "Slate-breakers" are some of my favorite GPP targets for upside or reduced ownership.
  • Vegas and risk columns will all be updated during the week to reflect injury info, weather info, and the most recent Vegas info.

Wild Card DFS Slate Notes

If you are playing the full 3-day, 6-game slate then the obvious spots I think you have to attack are the Niners run game (McCaffrey/Mitchell) and the Vikings/Giants game.

Allen-Diggs is a pairing that I will have a lot of but I don't think you have to force a Miami run-back.

With Mike Williams now out, Josh Palmer and DeAndre Carter enter the player pool as I think the Chargers will be forced to throw quite a bit against the Jags in that one.

I didn't list any cheap TEs on the sheet, but I like Hayden Hurst quite a bit for Cincy in that game against Baltimore. Gerald Everett also feels a bit underpriced at 3.9k on DK.

If you're playing the single-day slates on Saturday and Sunday, you're going to have to get creative in GPPs, and game theory starts to enter the thought process a bit more. The Bills stack will be massively chalky on Sunday and nearly every lineup on the Saturday-only slate is going to start with McCaffrey and Etienne Jr. That's why I would consider mixing in some of their backups (Mitchell and Hasty) as you never know if there could be an injury or just a situation where the backup scores a TD and ends up being optimal at their price.

Even on the six-gamer, we can take some shots at some WR3s and backup TEs in larger fields. Isaiah Likely had a huge game against the Bengals last week and while Mark Andrews is back this week, the Ravens may still find a way to get him involved by lining him up at WR (they really should.)

If anything else major develops by tomorrow morning, I will revisit this section and post any new info or insights.
