Seattle Mariners rookie outfielder Julio Rodriguez (back) left the game early on Thursday against the Oakland Athletics with lower back tightness in the first inning. It's not a good sign for the 21-year-old All-Star, as he also missed three games over the weekend with the same issue. Seattle will be hoping to have Rodriguez for a possible postseason run, so it's unlikely that they'll rush him back for the end of the regular season. Consider him day-to-day for now. J-Rod has been worth the hype in his first big-league season, entering the day Thursday hitting .279/.341/.499 with an .840 OPS, 27 home runs, 73 RBI, 80 runs scored and 25 stolen bases in 499 at-bats.
