1B/3B Waiver Wire Pickups for Fantasy Baseball - Week 11

brendan donovan fantasy baseball rankings draft sleepers waiver wire pickups

John's fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups for 1B and 3B for Week 11 of the 2022 MLB season. Consider adding and streaming these first basemen and third basemen.

Welcome back RotoBallers to Week 11! It’s June already, we're inching closer and closer to the trading deadline. It’s almost time to make some big decisions about your fantasy teams. If you’re struggling, hopefully some of these additions can help turn your season around.

Today, we're back with another edition of our first base and third base fantasy baseball waiver wire pickupsFor those who are not familiar, each week at RotoBaller, we publish a waiver wire article for each position. This article will look at corner infield options, at both 1B and 3B. You can also read our other articles for middle infield (2B and SS), outfield, starting pitchers, and more.

Let’s keep rolling right along here with some names to consider as fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups for this upcoming week of the MLB and fantasy baseball season – June 20 through June 26.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Brendan Donovan, St. Louis Cardinals

51% Rostered

If you can’t tell by now, I’m a big Brendan Donovan fan. This is about the third or fourth time he’s appeared in my suggestions since he’s been called up to the big leagues. All the kid has done is continue to produce.

Since making his debut, all Donovan has done is hit and hit and hit some more. In 45 games, the infielder has posted a .338 average and .447 on-base percentage. He has just one homer and has ripped 14 doubles over that same span.

His great on-base abilities likely come from the youngster's great plate discipline. So far, Donovan has drawn as many walks as he has strikeouts (22). Both his strikeout percentage and walk rate come in right around or above the 90th percentile.

Donovan is looking more and more like a really strong sleeper in the NL Rookie of the Year race. He’s been a hot commodity in fantasy leagues lately and should be scooped up if he’s still out there.

Jon Berti, Miami Marlins

41% Rostered

With both infielder Joey Wendle and Brian Anderson currently sidelined due to injuries, Berti has been receiving everyday playing time. So far, the infielder has been taking full advantage of the opportunity.

Over his past 14 games, Berti is hitting .302 and has a .362 on-base percentage. In that same span, he’s added 11 of his league-leading 15 stolen bases on the season. Berti doesn’t offer much when it comes to power, but he certainly makes up for it with his speed.

His sprint speed currently ranks in the 94th percentile in all of baseball, right around his career mark. In 35 games on the year, Berti is hitting .275 and has a .378 OBP, 21 runs scored, and a career-high .772 OPS.

Power definitely isn’t his calling card, but if you’re looking for a bit of a bump in stolen bases or runs scored, Berti just might be your guy.

Garrett Cooper, Miami Marlins

34% Rostered

Another player making another appearance on this list this week is Marlins utility man Garrett Cooper. The 31-year-old missed just a short time when he was placed on the COVID-IL but quickly returned to the lineup.

Prior to that, Coop was one of the hottest hitters in all of baseball. He went just 2-for-9 in the series against the Phillies earlier this week but returned to form against the Mets. Over his past 14 days, Cooper is hitting .417 and has a .475 on-base percentage.

For the year, Cooper is quietly hitting .315 and has a .387 OBP and 28 RBI. He’s been a relatively solid option with the bat over the past couple of seasons, it’s just the question of whether or not he can stay healthy.

While he’s out there and producing, fantasy owners should definitely pick up the 31-year-old slugger.

Jake Burger, Chicago White Sox

31% Rostered

Burger missed some time over the past week with a hand injury but has been out there for the weekend series with the Astros. Thus far this season, the 26-year-old has provided a nice little boost in the White Sox lineup.

In 40 games, Burger has eight home runs and 23 RBI while posting a .265 average and .313 on-base percentage. This month alone, he’s hit half of his home runs, has five doubles, and has recorded a 1.104 OPS.

The rookie is quickly making a name for himself in his second stint at the big league level. Burger’s been barreling balls up at a tremendous 16.1% and has been posting above-average exit velocities.

With Yoan Moncada still struggling, Burger is definitely a corner infield option to keep an eye on for the next few weeks.
