Jordan Spieth Under The Weather Ahead Of U.S. Open
Jordan Spieth was said to have left the range Wednesday afternoon with an illness. If Spieth plays, he appears to have the recipe for a strong U.S. Open this week. Over the last 24 rounds, Spieth ranks fifth in ball-striking, first in strokes gained around the green, and 15th on approach. Spieth ended his nine event run gaining strokes on approach at The Memorial. However, he did gain 5 strokes putting, his most since St. Jude last year. Putting will be crucial this week on these small and slippery surfaces. If Spieth continues his ball-striking and he is comfortable with the putter, he should find himself in with a shot to win on Sunday.
