Chicago Cubs catcher Yan Gomes (oblique) was a late scratch from the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cincinnati Reds. P.J. Higgins will now be catching for the game. Gomes is dealing with left oblique tightness. Fellow Cubs catcher Willson Contreras (hamstring) is also hampered by an injury. He suffered a right hamstring strain on Saturday and hasn't played since.
