Rob Giltner breaks down some DraftKings DFS pivots, value plays, and sleepers for the 2022 The Wells Fargo Championship. Daily fantasy golf advice on under-owned golfers and who to avoid for your lineups.
Welcome back, RotoBallers, to my PGA DFS Pivots for DraftKings! This week, the PGA event is The Wells Fargo Championship.
The tour heads north and arrives in Maryland and the Washington D.C. area. This will be the first time TPC Potomac will host the Wells Fargo Championship. The field is headed by Rory Mcllroy who is $900 more expensive than his next rival.
While the field is below average, it does provide us with some interesting opportunities.
The Wells Fargo Championship - PGA DFS Advice
Pivot Off: Keegan Bradley ($9,600) - Keegan Bradley is currently projected to be one of the highest owned golfers in the field. Bradley arrives in Maryland off an eighth-place finish at The Valero last month. Bradley excelled tee-to-green that week gaining 8 strokes. Over his last nine events, Bradley has only lost strokes tee-to-green once. He has played well this spring. The 35-year-old American finished in fifth place at The Players and 11th at The Arnold Palmer Invitational.
With how highly owned Bradley is likely to be, it does present us with a unique opportunity. Bradley is known as a volatile golfer. His volatility could create some concern to roster him at his ownership number. However, it does present the possibility of leverage if we pivot. Many are seeing his strokes gained data in their models. The problem is he has not played in a golf tournament in a month. And while he has had a strong spring, I love the angle of pivoting off chalky golfers who are coming in off a layoff. Lastly, this isn’t the strongest field. Bradley is $1,100 more expensive this week than when he was at The Valero. It may not be the time to buy a highly owned and priced Keegan Bradley.
Top PGA DFS Pivot Plays - Wells Fargo Championship
Matthew Fitzpatrick ($10,000) - Mathew Fitzpatrick let down many in Hilton Head. Fitzpatrick was very popular that week and missed the cut. He surprisingly was let down by the putter at The RBC Heritage where he lost 3.3 strokes on the greens. His missed cut could give us an opportunity to capitalize on some recency bias.
His ownership may be deflated some after disappointing many a few weeks ago. Fitzpatrick has gained strokes on approach in seven consecutive tournaments. Over the last 24 rounds, he ranks 17th in the field in ball-striking and 21st on approach. I expect he will bounce back in a big way this week.

Si Woo Kim ($8,400) - Si Woo Kim continues to go overlooked. He has not missed a cut since The Shriners last fall. He has now gained strokes off-the-tee in ten straight events. At The RBC Heritage, Kim gained 3.1 on approach and 5.2 strokes tee-to-green. Lastly, over the last 24 rounds, Kim ranks ninth in the field in ball striking. At low ownership, Kim is a great play in all formats.
Cameron Davis ($7,200) - Cameron Davis appears to have found some in Hilton Head. At The RBC Heritage, Davis finished in third place. He gained 8.4 strokes tee-to-green and shot a 63 on Sunday. We could be buying into some recency bias, but Davis has back class that could signal success at TPC Potomac. At low ownership and salary, Davis presents some possible value.
Nate Lashley ($7,000) - Nate Lashley has had a strong spring. It all started with a third-place finish in Puerto Rico. He then recorded a 27th, 15th, and 18th place finish in his next three starts. Last week at The Mexico Open he finished in 11th place while gaining 3.8 strokes on approach. Lastly, over his last 24 rounds, Lashley ranks 11th in opportunities gained
