3 Impact Fantasy Baseball Prospects To Stash - Chandler Simpson, Samuel Basallo, Brady House

Samuel Basallo - Fantasy Baseball Prospects, Waiver Wire Pickups, Draft Sleepers

Three top fantasy baseball prospects - Chandler Simpson, Samuel Basallo, Brady House - who can make big impacts. These MLB prospects are waiver wire pickups or stashes.

With more prospects getting called up, now is the perfect time to stash some of the best prospects in the minor leagues. Fantasy managers have already seen Roman Anthony, Jacob Misiorowski, and Jac Caglianone all be called up recently. We could also expect MLB Pipeline's No. 2 overall prospect, Bubba Chandler, to be promoted very soon.

Stashing the right prospects in Week 11 of the fantasy baseball season could be a league-winning move for your team. In this article, we will determine if Chandler Simpson, Samuel Basallo, and Brady House are worth stashing in most fantasy leagues.

So, let's dive in and see if these three prospects should be stashed and grabbed off the waiver wire before it's too late.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball draft tools and resources:

Chandler Simpson, OF, Tampa Bay Rays

Current Level: Triple-A Durham
Availability: 16% rostered
2025 MLB stats: 35 G, .285/.315/.317, 11 RBI, 17 R, 6 BB, 19 SB

Many thought that Simpson was here to stay after the Rays called him up in the middle of April. He was putting the ball in play and was an absolute menace on the base paths. Tampa Bay's No. 7 overall prospect was 19-for-22 on stolen base attempts in his first 35 major league games. He was also starting to get into a groove at the plate, hitting .333 from May 11 to May 29.

Therefore, it was surprising when the Rays optioned him down to Triple-A on May 30. Simpson was making a difference for the Rays and was a reason why the team won 13 of 18 games at one point in May.

Since being optioned down to Triple-A a few weeks ago, Simpson continues to get on base at a high level. He has a hit in four of his six games with the Durham Bulls and has stolen three bases in two of the past three contests. So, it might not be long until the Rays call him up again, especially since his 29.8 ft/sec sprint speed ranks in the 98th percentile.

However, Simpson isn't necessarily worth stashing in most cases right now. We don't know when the speedy outfielder will be back, and he won't contribute much in the home run or RBI departments once he is promoted again. That means most fantasy managers should leave him on the waiver wire for now.

If you are in need of some stolen bases in your roto league, though, it might be wise to stash him. He is one of the fastest players in baseball and just stole 104 bases in 110 games between High-A and Double-A in 2024. When Simpson is called up again, he will continue to steal bases at a high level while hitting for a solid average.

Samuel Basallo, C/1B, Baltimore Orioles

Current Level: Triple-A Norfolk
Availability: 6% rostered
2024 MiLB stats: 127 G, .278/.341/.449, 19 HRs, 65 RBI, 68 R, 10 SB
2025 AAA stats: 40 G, .244/.360/.578, 13 HRs, 29 RBI, 26 R

The Baltimore Orioles signed Basallo to a $1.3 million bonus back in January of 2021. He was just 16 years old at the time of signing, and we are starting to see why the Orioles were so aggressive in signing him out of the Dominican Republic as a teenager. The catcher continues to show his potential down in the minors.

After spending his first two minor league seasons at rookie ball in 2021 and 2022, Basallo really broke out in 2023. He hit .313 with 20 home runs, 86 RBI, and 12 stolen bases in 114 games between Single-A, High-A, and Double-A. The left-handed slugger then followed up that campaign by hitting 19 home runs and driving in 65 runs across 127 games in 2024.

Those strong power numbers have only continued into 2025. Basallo is batting .244 with 13 home runs and 29 RBI in his first 40 games while currently being the youngest hitter in Triple-A. More importantly, the 20-year-old has launched nine home runs over his last 20 games. This hot stretch should draw some attention to fantasy managers.

Basallo appears to finally be in a groove after struggling in his first 21 Triple-A games last year. He hit just .222 with three home runs and 27 strikeouts with the Norfolk Tides in 2024. However, it's been a different story for MLB Pipeline's No. 16 overall prospect this season. He has a 55.6% hard-hit rate and a 22.2% barrel rate.

As a result, he might be worth stashing in some leagues in Week 11 of the fantasy baseball season. Given the way Basallo has hit the ball this year, there's a strong chance he will be promoted sometime in 2025.  Although it might not happen until later this summer, his power potential at the catcher position makes him a worthy stash.

If you have an open spot on your roster, then the Orioles' top prospect is a solid stash in some 12-plus team leagues. He should make his MLB debut in the coming months and could contribute solid power numbers right away. The 20-year-old has hit 52 home runs over his last 281 minor league games dating back to the start of the 2023 season.

Brady House, 3B, Washington Nationals

Level: Triple-A Rochester
Availability: 2% rostered
2024 MiLB stats: 129 G, .241/.297/.402, 19 HRs, 66 RBI, 68 R, 6 SB
2025 AAA stats: 60 G, .298/.350/.517, 12 HRs, 36 RBI, 41 R

There's no doubt that House is knocking on the door of a promotion. Even though the Nationals' No. 3 prospect struggled to maintain a solid batting average last year (.241), he has really been much better in that area this year. The 22-year-old is batting .298 with 12 home runs and 36 RBI in his first 60 games at Triple-A Rochester this season.

House continues to show his potential in Washington's farm system after being selected with the 11th overall pick in the 2021 MLB Draft. Given that he was just 18 years old when he was drafted out of high school, the Nationals have taken their time moving up the third baseman across all five minor league levels.

He played the final 16 games of the 2021 season at rookie ball before moving up to Single-A during the 2022 campaign. It wasn't until the 2023 season that we saw House break out as a prospect. He hit .312 with 12 home runs, 47 RBI, and nine stolen bases in 88 games between Single-A, High-A, and Double-A. House then hit 19 home runs and drove in 66 runs across 129 games at Double-A and Triple-A last year.

Therefore, it's not surprising that House continues to show his power potential this season. With 12 home runs in 238 at-bats, fantasy managers could be interested in stashing MLB Pipeline's No. 91 overall prospect.

Nevertheless, House is not worth stashing in most leagues right now. Although he has been hitting the ball well at Triple-A this season, it might be hard to trust him in most roto leagues. He doesn't steal many bases, won't drive in many runs, and the contact could become a problem for him in the majors. That makes him someone to just watch for now.

There is a chance that he will be promoted within the next few weeks. He has put up solid all-around numbers, and current Nationals third baseman Jose Tena hasn't done much at the plate in recent weeks. So, the Nationals could call up House by July.
