Fantasy football player outlook for IDP leagues. Atlanta Falcons DB Keanu Neal's value is analyzed by Bryan Levin as a fantasy IDP player in 2017 fantasy drafts.
Keanu Neal's rookie season got off to a tough start, missing the first two games with a knee injury. Once making his NFL debut in Week 3, his physical style of play was exactly what both the Falcons and fantasy owners were hoping for, on his way to a 106 tackle season while forcing an impressive five fumbles, vaulting him into high DB1 status and placing him among the top 5 among DBs in most scoring formats. If the second-year pro rested on his laurels and simply were to repeat his rookie numbers, most owners would be more than satisfied. Neal, however, has reportedly said he would like to become a more complete player this season, and spent time working on his coverage skills. This sounds a bit similar to another former SEC safety coming off a strong 100+ tackle rookie campaign who spent the offseason heading into his second year working on his ball skills and coverage. Am I saying that Neal is going to do what Landon Collins did in 2016? Not necessarily. But there is plenty of reason to be bullish about him and it should surprise nobody if he ends up as the top scoring DB this season.
