Ryan Tannehill (QB, MIA) - 2016 Fantasy Football Sleeper

BALLER MOVE: Target ~160

CURRENT ADP: 172.4

ANALYSIS: Ryan Tannehill ranked top-five in completion percentage with over 4,000 yards passing in 2014, and many fantasy owners and analysts predicted that he, equipped with a better team, would be a slam dunk fantasy contributor in 2015. However, he began the 2015 campaign with seven touchdowns and six turnovers in his first four games. Though he found some rhythm later on, Tannehill would end the season as the 16th-ranked quarterback. Now, fantasy owners can get the production of 2014 Tannehill without the hype of 2015 Tannehill.

The Miami Dolphins are one of five teams that have two wide receivers in the top 30 drafted among their position— Jarvis Landry and DeVante Parker. Both are serious downfield threats who could help open up the field. However, Tannehill’s greatest weapon might be new head coach Adam Gase, who has had success working with guys like Tim Tebow and Jay Cutler. In his only season working with Gase, Cutler improved his mechanics and his on-field decision making, and his passer rating was the highest of his career.

Tannehill is an established starter with two stud wide receivers and a coaching system that favors heavy QB production. At worst, he is a cheap backup who should out-perform the other QBs being drafted around him. At best, he could be a big key to a successful 2016 fantasy season.
