Zach Charbonnet, Jordan Mason, Tank Bigsby: Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Picks for Fantasy Football Week 2

Jordan Mason - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Should I start Zach Charbonnet, Jordan Mason or Tank Bigsby in Week 2? Fantasy football start em, sit em picks and recommendations for the 2024 NFL season.

Seahawks running back Zach Charbonnet, 49ers running back Jordan Mason, and Jaguars running back Tank Bigsby are all fantasy-relevant running backs that could have an impact in Week 2 of 2024.

All three players are in different positions, with varying levels of potential that could potentially lead to big scoring weeks.

Should you start Zach Charbonnet, Jordan Mason, or Tank Bigsby in fantasy football in Week 2? Let's dive in.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Should I Start Zach Charbonnet for Fantasy Football?

It's only been one week, and Seahawks lead running back Kenneth Walker III is already injured. He was listed as Doubtful in the latest injury report, indicating that he's unlikely to play. The vast majority of the time, players designated as Doubtful do not play, so fantasy managers can assume Walker III will sit out.

Charbonnet has intriguing pass-catching upside, and will likely handle the bulk of the workload given his experience with the Seahawks. Fellow Seahawks running back Kenny McIntosh could see some playing time, but he spent much of last year on injured reserve, so he is much less experienced.

Charbonnet hasn't been very efficient as the lead back for the Seahawks when given the opportunities, though. He averaged under 3.5 yards per carry in all three games where he had 10+ carries in 2023. Charbonnet will probably need significant receiving volume to put up a big game in Week 2.

Charbonnet will serve as the lead back for the Seahawks in Week 2, so he should probably start, but he's not as compelling of a start as the next RB on this list. He's the RB25 in our half-PPR consensus staff rankings.

Should I Start Jordan Mason for Fantasy Football?

There are no efficiency questions with Mason. He was a workhorse in Week 1 against the Jets, racking up 147 yards and a touchdown with 5.4 yards per carry. The 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan seems to always find a way to maximize the production of his running backs, and Mason stepped up to the task.

Mason seems to be the only RB that has the trust of Shanahan, and that's incredibly valuable for fantasy. "Good players on good offenses" seem to be excellent fantasy football assets every year. Mason should start.

He's the RB10 in our half-PPR consensus staff rankings.

Should I Start Tank Bigsby for Fantasy Football?

Bigsby is the least compelling of the group. Both Charbonnet and Mason are set up to have elite workloads, but Travis Etienne Jr. is healthy and the clear No. 1 RB for the Jaguars, and that's not about to change. Bigsby had some nice runs against the Miami Dolphins in their Week 1 matchup, but Etienne Jr. still has a clear role.

Bigsby could eat into Etienne Jr.'s role if the latter remains inefficient and continues making costly mistakes, like fumbling the ball through the endzone and turning the ball over with a touchback.

This may take time though. For now, it's better to leave Bigsby on the bench outside of deeper leagues.

He's the RB44 in our half-PPR consensus staff rankings.
