Yahoo MLB DFS Advice (5/4/17): Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks

Happy  Thursday morning, or whenever you happen to be reading this. There are 13 games on the docket Wednesday, but the start times range from 12:35 to 10:10 EST. Only the five evening games are connected to the GPP's so they're the ones that I'll be focusing on as a result. Yahoo has some great value options to choose from for DFS games so let's get down to business (because, as usual, it's business time).

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for Yahoo on 5/4/17. The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays on Yahoo.

You can read our FanDuel and DraftKings DFS lineup picks as well. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @justinrklein.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Consider on Yahoo

The Boston Red Sox at home against Ubaldo Jimenez and the Baltimore Orioles. There's a chance that Ubaldo enters the bean-ball war that is ongoing between these two clubs and exits the game early. In that case I still like the Red Sox quite a bit. That's what's up. So join me and get a bunch of Red Sox into your DFS lineups Thursday night.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on Yahoo

Matt Andriese vs MIA ($32)

Andriese and the Rays are a solid favorite on Thursday night against a NL team at home in the pitcher friendly confines of Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. Their opponent has the second lowest projected run score on the evening slate and at 32 bucks Andriese presents a solid value on a night without many good pitching options.

Ariel Miranda vs LAA ($33)

Miranda and the Mariners face off with the Angels at home at Safeco Field on Thursday evening and that's a good thing for them and their owners in the fake game. Outside of some fishy fella the Angels offense hasn't been very good this season. That's certainly got a lot to do with the reasoning why Seattle is a solid favorite on the evening and the Angels are only projected to score 3.5 runs. While Miranda has been a bit lucky in the LOB% and BABIP departments this season he has also increased his K/9 to 8.31. It's important to note that Ariel has also been a far and away better pitcher at home at Safeco as his wOBA allowed is 44 points lower at home than it is on the road.

DFS Infielders to Consider on Yahoo

Catcher (C) - Christian Vazquez vs BAL ($12)

Vazquez has earned more playing time with his stellar play behind the dish, but also with his bat as he's hitting .368 on the young season with 14 hits including five that went for extra bases. Thursday night he gets to face off with Jimenez and I suggest above I love stacking the Red Sox at home against Ubaldo. Christian only has three at bats against Ubaldo in his career, but he's managed a double and a K:BB of 1:1.

First Base (1B) - Freddie Freeman vs NYM ($26)

Freddie Freeman has been a man on fire this season as he's triple slashing an insane .368/.478/.779 through 26 games. Against RHP at home this season Freddie has mashed to the tune of a .230 ISO and a wRC+ of 151. While he's extremely expensive he's well worth paying up for as he gets to face a struggling RHP (Zack Wheeler) at home Thursday evening.

Second Base (2B) - Dustin Pedroia vs BAL ($13)

The Laser Show should be on full display Thursday evening as Pedroia will likely be near the top of the lineup for the Red Sox in a matchup that I like a lot. Boston should score quite a bit and I expect Dustin to be in the middle of it. In his career against Ubaldo he's managed 12 hits in 36 at bats with an OBP of .400 and I expect more of the same Thursday night.

Third Base (3B) - Kyle Seager - vs LAA ($14)

There aren't a lot of great options on Thursday night at the hot corner so I'm going to go with the elder Seager because he has a pretty good matchup and his price presents what should be a decent value. In his career against RHP Kyle has managed a .187 ISO with a wRC+ of 128. At home against northpaws Seager has posted a .355 OBP. I expect more of the same this evening against RHP Alex Meyer.

Shortstop (SS) - Xander Bogaerts vs BAL ($17)

Bogaerts has gotten off to a bit of a slow start this season but he's now hit safely in seven consecutive games and had multiple hit games in two of his last three. Thursday night he gets to face Ubaldo Jimenez and the Orioles at home at Fenway and that's a good thing for Xander and his owners in the fake game as he's managed eight hits in 32 at bats against Jimenez in his career thus far.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on Yahoo

Mookie Betts vs BAL ($20)

Mookie gets to face off with Ubaldo Jimenez and the Orioles on Thursday night at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts. In his career Mookie has posted an impressive .199 ISO and a wRC+ of 135 at home against RHP. Against Ubaldo Betts has notched 9 hits in the 32 at bats where they've faced off.

Mike Trout at SEA ($26)

Thursday night Mike Trout gets to face off with LHP Ariel Miranda and that's a good thing for Trout and his owners in the fake game. Over the course of his brief yet illustrious career Mike has destroyed LHP to the tune of a .239 ISO and a wRC+ of 164. On the road those numbers go up to .265 ISO and a wRC+ of 173. At $26 Trout is rather expensive, but he's worth paying up for on Thursday night.
