These Yahoo! lineup recommendations are based on matchups, recent performances, overall upside/talent levels, and other factors such as Vegas odds, home field advantage, and more. Good luck with your Yahoo! DFS lineups!

Yahoo! Quarterback - Week 9 DFS Picks

Aaron Rodgers (vs IND, $38)

The Packers running game has been in shambles since Eddie Lacy went down with an ankle injury. As a result Rodgers has attempted 181 passes over his last four games. When opportunity meets talent is when you make all the money in DFS. Add in that Ty Montgomery is likely back and coming out of the backfield this Sunday, that the Colts pass defense is porous and we have a recipe for success.

Andrew Luck (at GB, $35)

On the other side of the field Luck will be going against a Packers defense that is without their two best cover corners in Sam Shields and Damarious Randall. When you throw in that Clay Matthews missed last week and could miss this week or be limited, it's likely that Mr. Luck will spend less time on his backside on the hallowed ground of Lambeau Field. Because the Packers run defense is so good (second best unit in the league even though Ezekiel Elliott has his way with them) I fully expect Indy to come out throwing. Not only do I expect lots of throws and yards, but TY Hilton may be back and I'd be surprised if Luck didn't throw less than two touchdowns.

Yahoo! Running Backs - Week 9 DFS Picks

Ezekiel Elliott (at CLE, $39)

Ezekiel Elliot has been fantastic this season as he's already compiled 799 rushing yards and 150 receiving yards to go along with his 5 TD's. That's 18.6 FPPG, good for the third most FPPG at RB, in spite of the fact that Eazy E has already had his bye week. This week he faces a Browns defense that has allowed the second most rushing yards per game this season. I fully expect Elliott to have a huge game and think he should be universally owned.

Matt Forte (at MIA, $29)

Forte has been hit or miss this season as he's either been held under 7.4 FPPG or 18 or more FPPG. Whenever Forte has faced a tough defense or Ryan Fitzpatrick threw multiple interceptions, he's been held in check. When he's faced an average or sub-par defense he's gone off. In fact, three times he's posted 22.8 points or more. This week he'll head to sunny Miami where he'll likely feast on the third worst rushing defense in the league in yards allowed. I fully expect another big game from Forte and love him as a tournament play.

Yahoo! Wide Receivers - Week 9 DFS Picks

Ty Montgomery (vs IND,  $20)

Montgomery was held out last week but looks like he'll return this week in a tasty matchup with the Colts. If for some reason he's a surprise-sit, I like pivoting to Devante Adams. If he plays I expect Ty to have 8-12 carries out of the backfield and roughly ten targets in the short passing game. Even though several of them could be short yardage type plays, I simply can't pass on 20+ touches for $20 against a weak defense. Join me and get Ty into all of your lineups this weekend.

Donte Moncrief (at GB, $16)

It sounds like TY Hilton is likely to play this weekend which directly affects Moncrief's ceiling. Although, it doesn't really touch his floor. I still expect several targets against a severely limited Packers defense. Indy will most likely be forced to throw because of Green Bay's stout run defense and the flow of the game. I fully expect the Packers to get a lead and score early and often, resulting in the Colts playing from behind. At $16 Moncrief might be one of the best value plays of the week and I like him in all formats.

Yahoo! Tight End - Week 9 DFS Picks

Virgil Green (at OAK, $10)

I've spent a lot of money elsewhere so I've decided to go cheap at TE with Green who costs the bare minimum. While it's seems like a punt play, it's actually a sneaky value play because Green has been so consistent. In the four games that he's played he's averaged 4.5 targets and 3.5 receptions per game, good for 5.5 FPPG. It doesn't seem like much, but at just $10, I love Virgil this week against a soft Oakland defense. I actually expect better numbers, but I'm not going to get my hopes up. I'll be happy with 5-6 points in the bank on the cheap.

Yahoo! Defense - Week 9 DFS Picks

Kansas City Chiefs D/ST (vs JAX, $19)

The Chiefs defense has a dream matchup with the Jaguars on Sunday as Jacksonville has been giving away the football all season like it's Halloween candy. Not only are the Jags careless with the football, but the Chiefs have quietly been a fantasy force this season. In four of their seven games they've managed to notch double digit fantasy points, including a monster 35 FPP that they posted against the Jets. Whenever I pick a D/ST I always try to target a good defense with a great matchup at home. KC fits the bill this week. I believe that they're worth paying up for and could be the difference between cashing and making lots of money, so join me and get them into your lineups post haste. This is unrelated, but typing Jaguars made me think of this. Maybe it's because I saw Bill Murray on my TV so much this past week. In any case, enjoy and good luck out there.
