Yahoo MLB DFS Advice (4/3/17): Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks

Happy opening day! Hooray for baseball! This is going to be a very exciting season, especially with the huge increase in homers we saw in 2016. How will that play out this year? We'll watch and see.  Today, Yahoo has some great value options to choose from for DFS games. Let's get down to business.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for Yahoo on 4/3/17. The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays on Yahoo.

You can read our FanDuel and DraftKings DFS lineup picks as well. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @justinrklein.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on Yahoo

Washington Nationals vs Edinson Volquez at Nationals Park in Washington, DC. Volquez is a below average pitcher, and the Nationals have several elite hitting options to choose from. I expect Washington to win big and pile up the runs so feel free to get a National, or two or three, in your lineup whenever possible.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on Yahoo

Clayton Kershaw  vs SD ($56)

Kershaw is expensive, but he's worth paying up for on Monday at home against the Padres. He's the best pitcher in the game, but that's not a good enough reason when it comes to DFS. We need to dig deeper. Not only is Kershaw a huge favorite to win the game, at home, but he should rack up the strikeouts as well. This is because the Padres had the second most strikeouts in the league last season and have since added more strikeout prone rookies to their lineup.

Noah Syndergaard vs ATL ($53)

Thor was one of the best pitching options in DFS last season as he averaged 24.5 FPPG over his last ten outings. With a clean weather report coming out of NYC it should be all systems go for Thor against a fairly weak Braves lineup. I call the Braves offense weak because last season they had the fourth lowest OPS in the league and scored the second fewest amount of runs. Because of that I love this matchup and am more than happy to pay up for Thor against the Braves.

DFS Infielders to Consider on Yahoo

Catcher (C)

Carlos Perez  vs OAK ($7)

If I'm going to spend big on SP then I'm going to need to save money elsewhere and this seemed like a good spot to punt. Not only do I like the weather in Oakland tomorrow for hitters (70* and sunny) but I like the matchup with Kendall Graveman. Carlos has faced him five times in his career and notched two hits in the process. That will do just fine.

First Base (1B)

Lucas Duda vs ATL ($9)

I like backing up Syndergaard on Monday with a Mets stack of sorts because Julio Teheran has struggled against LHH and when he's away from home. In his career he's allowed LHH to SLG .414 while he's held RHH to a SLG of .362. On the road in his career he's posted an ERA of 3.80 and at home he's managed an ERA of 3.02. Duda is a lefty slugger, the game is away from Atlanta in NYC (where the forecast is solid) and Lucas be hitting in a prime spot in the Mets lineup. Sign me up.

Second Base (2B)

Daniel Murphy vs MIA ($19)

Murphy will face off against Edinson Volquez on Monday and that is a good thing for him and his owners in fantasy baseball. This is because Volquez is a below average right handed pitcher that has allowed LHH a slash line of .259/.348/.405 over his career. Not only that but he's a worse pitcher on the road and he'll be pitching at Nationals stadium on Monday. Last season Murphy torched RHP to the tune of a .354/.396/.614 slash line that included 35 doubles, three triples, 19 HR and 5 SB to go with a K/BB ratio of 39/26. Sold.

Shortstop (SS)

Asdrubal Cabrera vs ATL ($11)

As I mentioned earlier I'm targeting LHH for the Mets against Teheran in what are supposed to be good hitting conditions in NYC on Monday. Not only is Asdrubal nice and cheap at $11, but he's a solid switch hitting option that will likely be at or near the top of the Mets order.

Third Base (3B)

Danny Valencia - at HOU ($8)

Over his career Valencia has demolished LHP to the tune of a .321/.373/.500 slash line. Those are All Star numbers folks. On Monday he'll face LHP Dallas Keuchel in Houston at Minute Maid Park. In his career against Keuchel Danny has eight hits in 16 at bats with two doubles and two HR. Not only does this matchup set up perfectly for Valencia, but it's in a dome and his price tag is dirt cheap. This is a layup, so don't over think it and lay the ball on the glass. If Valencia isn't in your lineup on Monday you're doing it wrong.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on Yahoo

Nelson Cruz at HOU ($20)

Cruz has always destroyed LHP in his career as he's manged to post an insane .936 OPS against them across 1426 plate appearances. On Monday he'll join Valencia in the middle of a solid Mariners lineup against LHP Dallas Keuchel and the Astros at Minute Maid Park in Houston. In his career against Dallas Nelson has managed nine hits in 22 at bats including a double and three HR. He's the most expensive bat that I'll have in any of my lineups on Monday, but he's well worth paying up for, so join me and get Cruz into all of your lineups.

Curtis Granderson vs ATL ($20)

Granderson is another LHH that I like facing Teheran and the Braves on Monday at Citi Field. Not only is Grandy nice and cheap, but he'll most likely be leading off or hitting near the top of the order for New York. If they score a chunk of runs I expect Curtis to be in the middle of it. In his career against Julio Granderson has impressed with a .400 OBP and I expect more of the same on Monday.
